Reform of the Malaysian Child Justice System

Child Frontiers is providing high level technical support to assist the government of Malaysia and other key stakeholders in the reform of the child justice system, via a year-long engagement with UNICEF Malaysia. Some of the objectives include: Providing technical and strategic support to the multiagency Taskforce on Diversion led by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development in planning and implementation of the diversion pilot; Supporting development and design of tool for client satisfaction for parents and child victims of sexual abuse; Supporting independent court monitoring tools for monitoring the child witness/victims system; and supporting the drafting and review of legislation, regulations and policies related to child protection. Child Frontiers will also be facilitating workshops on adoption to build awareness on the international standards, laws and best practices.
